Soorbhaañ Ne Sahebe Mokliya Lyrics

The Sahib has sent Surbhañ

To go visit Queen Surja.

"In the demon's home is a lady," He said.

"She is my Devotee" ..1

Surbhañ spoke these words to her.

"Listen, O Queen Surja!

The Guru out of his love for you,

Has sent [me here] to this demon's land" ..2

Upon hearing this, Queen Surja stood up

And she came out of her retreat;

Lening go her chhedo she prostrated at the Guru's feet.

"Indeed, Swami has done us a favour!" ..3

[Surbhañ] related to her the Guru's ginan

And they meditated on its teaching (veda).

"We will impart to you the principles of religion,

But lady. you are mistress in a demon's house!" ..4

Thereupon Queen Surjadevi said this:

"Standing on my feet, I the Queen, plead!

O Swami, have mercy upon us!

Carry us safely across to the other shore" ..5

"If you [promise to] recollect Shah Pir", [replied Surbhañ]

We will assure you and give you our word of honour;

But Queen Surjadevi, surely if you remain righteous,

You will attain the other shore" ..6

Saying this much. he made ready to leave.

But standing up. the Queen begged:

"O Swami! Please return to us and grace our home

Once more by your presence" ..7

Then Kamala and Dhamala appeared;

They too prostrated at his feet.

Ajiya and Vajiya also emerged.

And then came brother Robada.. ..8

Then Kamala's son came out;

He too paid his respects.

They all stood with hands clasped

Whereupon Lochana too arrived.. ..9

[They said:] "O Swami! Please visit our home again

And impart to us the sacred knowledge (veda)!

O Swami, have mercy upon us!

And ferry us across to the other shore" ..10

He gave assurance to the pious servants.

And then the respected Kamala spoke:

"O Swami, have mercy upon us!

Deliver us to the other shore!" ..11

Then Vimras spoke these words

Concerning the Guru's ginan:

"If you remember Shah Pir,

You will attain the supreme boon of Heaven" ..12

"You will attain the supreme boon of Heaven,

You will enter that glorious City of Immortality"

Surbhañ read aloud from the scriptures

That Pir Shams had made the [following] promise.. ..13

"Pir Shams and Shri Islamshah,

They too will come to the fort in Multan.

Whoever will bring to them the exact tithe (dasond),

Will attain the station of the City of Immortality.. ..14

If you enter the City of Immortality and then too

By the very path shown to you by the Guru,

As a result of your success, boons will be given

To seven and a half crore others.. ..15

These seven and-a-half crore will be chosen

From among the citizens of Chenab town.

So keep in your hearts the ginan of the Guru

And perform service at the feet of Pir Shams" ..16

Dait ne ghare ek naar chhe

Te chhe aapñi daas.. ..1

Tame preete Gure mokaliya

Eji Taare Soorja raañi saambhli uthi

Ane aaviya mindar ne baar

Chheda chodine Gurne paai padiya

Sami kidhi amaari saar.. ..3

Eji Gurna ginan sambhlaaviya

Dharm niyam tamne aalsu(n)

Baai tame chho da(n)it ghar naar.. ..4

Eji Taare Soorjaade raañi em vade

Raañi ubha kare chhe ardaas

Sami am upare kirpa kari

Utaaro pahele paar.. ..5

Eji Taare Shah Pirne jo tame samarso

To aaliye kol karaar

Pañ Soorjaade raañi jo tame sate lesho

To utarsho pahele paar.. ..6

Eji Etlu(n) kahine sadhaaviya

Raañi ubha kare chhe ardaas

Am ghare Sami padhaarjo

Aavjo amaare paas.. ..7

Eji Taare Kamla ne Dhamla aaviya

Te pañ aavine laaga paay

Ajiya ne Vajiya aaviya

Taare robad bhai.. ..8

Shah Pirne jo tame samarsho

Aavsho te amraapuri mol

Soorbhañe shaastr vaanchya

Te pañ aavshe gadh Mulastaan

Khari dashond tene je aalse
