We don't yet perfectly perceive

However, all things wait for the consummation

When everything will unite in Christ at his second coming

For now, we're living between Jesus' first and second coming

We're in a period called "Already But Not Yet."

For instance, we were raised with Christ from the dead

But on the last day, we'll rise from the grave

According to Ephesians 2:8, we're saved

But according to Romans 5:9, we wait to be saved

Since we're in the dispensation of the Already But Not Yet

Our bodies are prone to various illnesses

We're still wrestling against the spiritual forces of evil

All this will completely cease when Jesus Christ returns

We don't yet perfectly perceive

That everything is in subjection to Jesus Christ

But when he comes again

It will be so clear he's reigning over everything

Every knee will bow

And every tongue confess

That Jesus Christ is Lord

In the fullness of time

All things will unite in him

Christians, we're engaged in spiritual warfare against Satan

And yes, we know that our victory is guaranteed

We know that our enemy will surrender

We know that in the end

God will throw the devil into the lake of fire

His end is tragic

Nonetheless, sometimes it seems like we're losing the battle

It feels like evil forces are winning at tormenting us

Sometimes it appears like Satan is sifting us like wheat

If indeed Christ defeated Satan

Why then don't we always feel victorious

For sometimes we fear and grow weary

And yet, the Holy Spirit is ever present with us

This tension is due to the "Already But Not Yet."

The kingdom of God has indeed been inaugurated

However, it is not yet consummated

God's kingdom will fully be manifested

When Christ returns and unites all things in him

We're truly blessed in Christ

Nonetheless, we wait for the last day

To finally enjoy our blessings completely

When Christ comes again

And unites all things in him
