He's got the whole world in his hands

The Father is in charge of the entire universe

Everything is under his control

Yahweh rules over everything

Both the good and the bad

His authority extends everywhere

In heaven and on earth

Read Lamentations 3:37-38

Everything comes to pass

According to the counsel of God's will, his decree

Yahweh is in charge of everything

Of course, Satan influences evil actions

But still, the sovereign will of God reigns over everything

It's hard for our minds to understand this exhaustively

Why would the good Lord allow evil things to happen

Why would he let exploitations, accidents

Illnesses and demonic activities happen

This paradox is resolved on the cross

It pleased the Father to have Christ crucified

Nonetheless, the men who killed him

Willingly chose to murder him

Secondary causes like Satan's role

Human responsibility, and natural factors

Are not removed or nullified

But ultimately, God's sovereign will overrides everything

His purpose is what prevails throughout the universe

God's still in charge when it rains because of precipitation

He's still in charge if it doesn't rain due to deforestation

He's still in charge when Satan influences

Man's evil actions that damage creation

Behold, the world and everything in it belongs to the Lord

He's got the whole world in his hands

The Father is in charge of the entire universe

Everything is under his control

I've been suffering for a while now

My pain feels like hell

I long for happiness but nothing seems to be working

Could it be that someone bewitched me

Did they make incantations

That I'll fail in life and die in poverty

We rush attributing our suffering to being bewitched

Maybe that assessment is correct

However, think about Job

When he suffered terribly

He acknowledged God's sovereign hand in that

He humbly accepted

That Yahweh had permitted his calamity

Who does that

The secret things belong to the Lord

We can't see what's happening

Beyond the physical realm

But worry not

Be assured that Yahweh is still in control

Even over those things unknown to us

Moreover, God's aim for permitting our suffering

Is never to harm us

His purpose is to sanctify us

To transform us into the likeness of his Son

To make us like Jesus Christ

So that we're perfect like him, without sin

On that day when we finally see him face to face in heaven

Yahweh's goal is to make himself known to us

To mature our faith in him as our Father

The intention is that we worship him

For all power and authority is his hand

Everything, good or bad

Happens to the glory of his name

He's got the whole world in his hands
