Am I blessed or am I cursed

My pastor believes I'm cursed

Despite being saved

His solution is that I need some exorcism

He says I won't be blessed

Unless I'm delivered from demons

But why am I suffering when I am innocent

I wasn't alive when my pagan ancestors

Made blood covenants with evil spirits

I wasn't yet born when they worshiped idols

Why am I being punished because of their sins

Apparently, their curses have passed on to me

Through ordinary generation

I'm annoyed that I'm being punished

Due to someone else's wickedness

Sometimes it makes me scared

All along I thought we reap what we sow

How come then I'm paying for the evil

Committed by my pagan forefathers

Do you see how confusing it is

Can the Holy Spirit and demons live in the same heart

Am I blessed or am I cursed

Am I in the light

If Christ saved you then you're free indeed

You're God's child, delivered from generational curses

According to Romans five

Death reigns in men without Christ

They are the ones dead in Adam

Whereas everyone who's in Christ is liberated

According to Ephesians one

We're blessed in him with every spiritual blessing

You don't need any exorcism

We're already set free from the powers of darkness

We rose together with Christ from the dead

And in Christ, you've been justified

Granted, you're still being sanctified

In this world, you'll struggle with indwelling sin

And face various trials

But that doesn't mean you're cursed

For in Christ, you're blessed

You've been set free morally, socially

Physically and spiritually

In short, Jesus sets us free totally

You're now the temple of the Holy Spirit

You can't be demon-possessed

Because Christ rose from the dead

According to one Corinthians six:19-20

We, Christians, are the temple of the Holy Spirit

He (the Holy Spirit) dwells in us

Jesus bought us at a precious price

According to Ephesians one:3

The Lord has blessed us in Christ

With every spiritual blessing

Am I blessed? Am I cursed

You're blessed

Am I demon-possessed

No way

Jesus is the Light

And since you're his temple

Demons have no room in your heart

You're blessed in Christ Jesus

May I briefly comment on John 11

The story about Lazarus' resurrection

This account is no proof that Christians

May require exorcism even after being saved

The main lesson in this passage

Is in verses four, 15 and 25

Jesus is the resurrection and the life

And everyone who believes in him has eternal life

They will live even after they die

The blood of Jesus breaks every sin-bondage
