COVID

I was a janitor in New York City at Harlem Hospital during the onset of COVID

Well, they called me a Housekeeping Aide but it's same thing, janitor

At the start, man, everybody was paranoid, nobody knew if it was airborne

People really dying all around, worst thing since aids they said

On my floor, they kept all the kids together, packed them in small rooms

Packed them in nobody'd get too close out of fear, babies and up to 14 years

Every one needing life saving help and conversation just somebody to care

Juanita and me got the routine down, trash cans, bedding, bleach and towels

Mop and wipe and on to the next room

But the nurses disappeared, doctors didn't make room calls anymore

There wasn't anybody showing up out of fear
