Once undiscovered organisms rest on the waves

Entire phylum's still and lifeless together

Fumes seeping into the ephemeral atmosphere

An astronomical blaze engulfs the lands, towering over the skyline

The oceans boil and the vapour and embers combine

The conflagration rampages, forming an earth wide pyro-cumulonimbus

The lithospheric mantle begins to warp

The plates deform as if by will

Tectonic shift, the once steady composition modifying at a great pace

The seismic waves once born to cause chaos ring out to an audience of none

Tephra explodes from every known vent to join the fulminating troposphere.

The newly baron chasms become the unstoppable path for the molten flow

An even more inhospitable expanse gathers, undulating and removing all it takes with it

The last biography of man consigned to be unremembered

The crust begins weeping as the plates are failing

Entire continents disappear

New fissures tear away with ease and so ends the Anthropocene

The sixth extinction is upon us, somehow far beyond our own doing

On this rock, it returned to its Hadean state as it once started

On this rock, the smelting waves in their aimless dance

The odyssey concludes in the deepest trench

The Black Cradle survives

At the lowest point to exist, true isolation was achieved

Although non-germane considering what has occurred

Despite challenges he remained resolute

Deserving of the warrior in his fullness

Witnessing the dawn of a tempestuous age with not a soul in sight

For inside he feels harmonious, gently swayed by the passive tide and an end to the disquieting flux

So too, like all those who came before, he returns to dust

On the grand stage of oblivion, a divine celestial being commands the firmament

Its ethereal hand resurrects the one who conquered as all dissipates around him

It beckons him upwards, beyond the hell below

In its other hand commences a wormhole

He finds himself at the foot of Sinai once again

Through the passage he goes and arrives in the infinite expanse

Locked eyes with his saviour

There is no more fear, he is humbled by this seraphic vision

The lips, born of stars, unpurse

I watched as you toiled, a candle unaware it is a beacon

The flame dancing, not quite aimless, just seeking an answer

So here is your purpose
