The new industry dominates the horizon, it knows nothing of torture and only serves the impulse to feed

Nothing stands between them and their bounty

Their proboscis infiltrates our captive skin and like nectar they drink our lifeblood, fluttering from body to body, erasing each life as they go

No juices wasted, they scuttle across the piles of dry skin and bone

Without emotion the horde persists unabated, not at all phased by the most powerful of armaments

We scorched the lands and formed a barrier of flame, their wings emerged, there was nowhere left to run

Our numbers dwindled, until there were none

So my soul was sucked up through the insect spout
