This city, oh so pretty, is the death of me

An epidemic of men out menacing

So, brothers and sisters, sing an elegy

Not to overreact to the sobering fact

But one in three attacks those with ovaries cast

Guess I should mask my face like at a masquerade

Lest I be rated and degraded mentally by fellas, see

Once upon a time in a schoolgirl's dream

We'd all come together to play hide and seek

Now post-naivety, it's a different scheme

Seeking good apples hidden on bad trees
