In September the sun goes away and doesn't shine again until the summer

I remember when I thought I had to change, thought I had to turn into another

Lake Michigan is freezing and I feel it in my bones

I looked for where I could belong but I still feel alone

I don't know what I'm even trying to say

But I'm thinking that just talking to you was my first mistake

Grand Rapids you will always be a chapter that nobody gets to read

But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't glad I lived through it
