I hope you don't mind, I caught your eyes from the other side of the bar

And I can say with great certainty they're the most beautiful eyes I've seen in my life

And were I a more charismatic man with some confidence

I'd crack a joke to make you smile

but I will just say "hi" and walk on by

They remind me of a girl I knew before you, she had some eyes an awful lot like yours

We shared a house on 65th street, though it was small, it was home, and we were very much in love

Or so I thought, I didn't know
