Awakening

Something is awakening deep within me

I have heard it many times

But I've always turned away from it

I've said, no I'm not ready, I'm not strong enough

I'm too selfish, too broken, to handle this great task

But there is a spirit within me, that I have been nurturing, through many seasons

In the silence of deep meditation

And rising ever slowly it says, you are ready now and it is time

Not with anger, not with violence but with love

There is a great change that is coming and a great love that is needed to bring it about
