It started with footsteps crunching the snow

The kind of quiet that makes the world glow

You walked beside me, hands in your coat

And the cold stole the words from my throat

A forest of white, a silence so deep

And there it was - just an old fallen tree

Half-buried in frost, waiting for me

I said, "See that trunk, way over there?
