Glad

Sometimes the stars remind me of what has gone away

The passing of all these years as time slips away

When I was a child the world felt like forever

Like there would be no end to growing up whatsoever

It was a time of innocence and magic untouched

A time before the world would make us all feel crushed

But, somehow, I woke up today and I got so old

And everything feels like it is growing cold

I see that I have more years behind me than I do ahead

I'm nearing those crossroads unsure what else is to be said

I'm glad I've had you by my side all this time
