Phantom shapes dance in the midnight glow

The silence thickens like dust in the corners

While I sift through faces that feel like ghosts

The likes are fireflies caught in jars

Their fleeting glimmers fade to black

I'm chasing stars that aren't even there

Wading through waters that swallow me whole

Streetlights blink like tired eyes outside
