The desert stretches far and wide, but can you see what's deep inside

An oasis, blues, a sight to see, but is it real or fantasy

The oasis falls beyond the sand, a paradise within your hand

Step inside, the water's clear, but what you seek may disappear

The wind blows soft, the palms they sway, but will the mirage lead you astray

Is it a dream you wish to find, or just a trick within your mind

The waters gleam, the shallows fall, but do you hear the distant call

A shimmer bright, a desert gloom, but does it hide impending doom

The sand shifts soft, the sun grows low, but can you trust what's there below
