Shadows of Me

In the mirror, I search for truth A distant face, lost in youth

Lines and scars beneath the skin Waiting for the healing to begin

Remnants of the life I knew Fade like stars in skies of blue

Woven tight in threads of fear Chasing light that won't appear

Shadows of me, scattered apart I reach for them, they slip from my heart

Caught in the waves of silent screams But I'll keep rising through shattered dreams

Through the haze of broken skies I'll find the strength to fight to rise

I built these walls to shield the pain But inside I'm stuck in chains

The shadows I made, they haunt me still Trapped within this self-made hill

Yet there's a light within the cracks A warmth that pulls me from the black
