Briars

Well it's, Too damn hot to go fishing in the pond, so I'll sit out on the deck

Holding on a bottle neck

Staring at the edge of the forest line where the bushes meet the pines

reminiscing on a time

I got caught in the briars, deep in the sticks

Hurry pappy, please come quick

cause I've been chasing squirrels again

Lord momma done pitched a fit

Been running all over town, knowing good and well we're hand-to-mouth

But we'd go hunting in the howling wind, up hickory chicken hill
