And then the corners will also fade away.

And little notches will form on the longer sides

Where my hands have smoothed over too many times.

And then the background will disappear

Like a ship running away from an iron fog.

And I can only watch it, nothing can stop this

As the memory fades into the sand.

A little while later, when we're staring at blacks and whites

Deciphering which features are a shadow or a nose.

They'll both, blend together
