Lyrics
This summer day has come to an end
With the bowing of the sun
The weighted air is so thick and moist
There's a momentary hush, then the darkness comes
Here I stand in the middle of this journey
Beneath this falling net of night
I pause and listen as the crickets start their music
And I feel as though my eyes, are starved for light
At first I'm startled by this bit of silent lightning
Like an illusion before my eyes
One by one a little host surrounds me
An earthbound constellation of fireflies
One could never give near enough light to guide me
But these hundred cause this misty air to glow
In a few steps at least I know where I am going
And I have the confidence to continue home
All around us, the darkness has descended
Here a little light, can go a long, long, way
Each little light is joined as a reminder
Of the brilliance of the coming day
At first we're startled by this bit of silent lightning
Like an illusion before our eyes
One by one this little host is forming
An earthbound constellation of fireflies
