Musician to musician, I'm actually curious, where'd you come up with all this

Did you go to church a lot as a kid

What inspired you to make this gospel sound

Okay, that's a great, great question

I was waiting for somebody to ask me that

Well, you know, I'm raised in hip-hop, you know what I'm saying

I like to say my father was just like RZA, Premier, you know what I mean

People like that

So I started, you know, really sampling and making beats like that

If you really listen to it, it really is some Wu-Tang sound and stuff, man

But at one point in time in my life, man, God spoke to me

He said, I'm going to give you a different lane

I want you to start sampling these records

So, you know, and I've always been a church type person, too

But, you know, that was really the calling

So that's when I started, you know, sampling the gospel records

Same formula, same thing

But, you know, I just started sampling those records

And then God was like, all right, now I'm going to send you the artists

Because, you know, if you notice, all my artists, they're not church-going people

They're all what I say, Peter

They're real street people

They all have secular albums

You can look them all up and they have

If you heard their other albums, you wouldn't think they would have a gospel project

But these are the people that God sent to me

So it all connects with that formula of music

So, but, yeah, my biggest influence would be like RZA, Premier, Quincy Jones

I love that, you know, it's funny

It sounds like God's like your collaborator, right

Like you seem to have an inner voice like moving you in the right direction

whether people believe in God or not

But there's something in you that is driving you towards your truth

And I think that's why you're the collaborator that's so close to who you are

And I think that's a way to get greatness

So congratulations

I'm so glad this is being recorded because you don't even know how much of a fulfillment of prophecy you just did right there

And you don't even know what them were

If I had a better phone, a better iPhone, I'd run around and scream right now

But I got to stay in one place before it drops

So, you know what I'm saying

I'm definitely going to bring this show back and sample that
