Well the past few weeks to months have been different

This is where all my years of birthday candles wishes went

It's been a wild ride to say the least

But I still got shoes on my feet

I never thought I'd grow up to be a house husband

But the job in question is turning me different

It's brought on a softer side of myself that never thought about cooking recipes or staying up to date on the laundry But I got it

& I'm walking daily get a good jog in to convince my body I didn't disregard it for so many years

Too many years of just chasing cheers

A reason to celebrate anything

That would get me out

& a reason to drink

Well the past few weeks to months have been different

But I have a solid reason to feel different

20 years of work to be laid off

And a bit of not knowing what's next

It's okay to live in the moment & not check that text

I've been living my best life

Taking a step forward and back at the same time

It's cool to be your dad & to be your friend

It's always been a tight rope balance that has had me searching

I'm glad we have a relationship now that hopefully you will never forget even after the summer
