HAUNTED AUTUMN NIGHT

I took a walk in a woodland park where all the leaves were falling

Red and gold now overtakes the green

It's getting dark much sooner now and all the birds are leaving

And I think on everything I've seen

Every face that I see in this place seems a little bit familiar

Like I'd met them somewhere long before

Old ghosts from the past who had crashed and burned, it's quite peculiar

And there's far too many to ignore

So much that I've learned, and there's so much I still don't know

So far that I've traveled but there's still so far to go

Waiting on the teacher, but they haven't surfaced yet

Writing down my story in this strange new alphabet

So much out beyond my line of sight

Trying to find my way without a guide

This haunted Autumn night

I read a book and it said to look in a place beyond your meanings

What that meant, I'm not sure that I see

Watched the sun go down in the town as I'm passing through this evening

Doors where I may never find the keys

So much that I've learned, and there's so much I still don't know
