Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness

And the wonderful works he does for the children of men

They wander around with no place to stay

Hungry and thirsty and weak

But they cry to the Lord and he shows them the way

And he gives the earth to the meek

They sit in darkness and affliction and doubt

In labor sorrow and pains

But they cry to the Lord and he brings them out

And breaks the bonds of their chains

They sin and blaspheme fools that they are

Nothing but trouble and strife

But they cry to the Lord and he hears from afar

And he takes them from death into life

'til wind and waves make them fear

And he brings them safe to their pier

The wicked all lose their voice
