Today I got in a car and got lost on purpose just to see where I'd end up

I looped around unknown roads of tarmac and memories

Acknowledging my denials and discoveries

I saw roads familiar and rejected them for the unknown

They were not paths to retake for I knew where they went already

So through rusted stations and dark hollows I drove

Down dark twisted roads that if I younger would lead me fear, but no

I felt self aware and lost, but with panic nowhere to be found

I acknowledged my denials and discoveries

The roads I chose and the roads untraveled and those it would be a waste to travel again

Tonight I chose only those untraveled

Yet I eventually found myself back to familiar ground

The very road that brought me here to a new home

So I find myself amongst a labyrinth with no exit by inside of me

I am grateful for the failures and joys, the denials and discoveries

So that I know what it is to have lived once and how to live better

And that I can always bring myself home
