You know who you are

I know you're out there, I know you haven't become too distant yet

And we're still in the no contact phase of things right now, so I figured in the meantime, I would do this instead

(Isn't that breaking the rules?)

(Kinda, but I don't care!)

Let the record show, during the last six months you could've called me anytime that you wanted

Perhaps had you done so, and spared me from this junk, I wouldn't have felt so many nights had been haunted

Perhaps I wouldn't have spent so many nights looking at the sky asking "Why is God tormenting me?"

Begging Him for a fatal remedy, just because a few lousy words were never spoken or sent to me

I'm not even suggesting you "brought this upon yourself" because I really don't mean to embarrass you one bit

But if you really still don't see what the holdup is on my end of this, perhaps you just have a very narrow view of it

And I'm still so naively optimistic you'll reach out, ready and willing to tell me all the truth

My lines are still open any time, I have the same number whenever you finally wanna talk it through

I won't ask you to stay close by because I know you can't make that promise

And even if you did, how could I trust that you were really being honest?

As immature and unreliable as you've already proven yourself to be once

My dependency was intense and deep hun

I hope we get a chance to touch base again and re up
