Stealing, unsealing

Mouths open yet speechless

Ranting yet heedless

Is this the price that we pay for rushing to make uninformed choices

Ignorance they say is no excuse but the lessons

I hope we ever learned

Is the sensation & resignation that comes to a child

Whose parents took payment for their silence

Aiding the child's abuser evade justice

Aiding and abetting a system already faulty

Defaulting

For accepting some little candy from a stranger

A stranger I thought I knew

Now who do I report to. All alone all in shame

So much regrets. Who do I return to

It is never worth the price we pay

The devil always comes bearing gifts & glad tidings

This I thought we all know clearly

Barely a day goes by without more victims

And the perpetrator silently empowered by blame
