T is for Total Depravity

And that means we all lack the capacity

L is for Limited Atonement

Payment in full, not a postponement

Jesus died for us and only for us

Jesus did what his Father directed

Kept the Law for us, not a jot neglected

Died for the sheep that his Father selected

Accomplished the salvation of those to be perfected

I is for Irresistible Grace

A miracle realized in time and space

Like conception in the womb, tiny but formidable

Like the wind that blows, completely unpredictable

The living spirit is attracted to the Word

Eyes and ears open, separate from the herd

Hungry for the truth, running to the light

Taking pleasure in everything true and good and right

P is Perseverance of the Saints

Safe in the hand of One without constraints

Able to slip but not able to fall

Kept by grace like Peter and Paul

Safe in the nail-pierced hand of our Lord

Working for an everlasting reward

Taking up our crosses, finding strength to cope

Looking to the skies for our blessed hope
