Back in 71, a southern preacher had a vision

To build an institution for believers was the mission

Critics said it couldn't work, but although he was warned

Dr. Jerry took a leap of faith and Liberty U. was born

A couple decades later, it's a school that can't be matched

And like so many students, I admit that I'm attached

Without my red and blue, I'm like a fish without the water

'Cause Liberty is the campus that I call my almamater

So what's the information on this mystical attraction?

Isn't cause of Jerry, Eric, Dwayne or Rob Jackson

Ain't the funky concerts or the basketball games

Though there ain't a lot that beats a battle fought by the flames

Unlike some other schools, we've got a different kind of flavor

Ain't kickin' with the sinners, but we're livin' for the Savior

'Cause once you break it down, it's really Him we've got to honor

And that's the reason I'm proud to call this place my almamater
