You were the lesson that I didn't want to learn

You were the sun I spent too much time in, then I got burned

You showed me what love is and how bad it can hurt

You taught me to love myself before others got hurt

You showed me all my wrongs I don't think I'll ever get right

You showed me that even in my darkest days, there can still be light

You were my flashlight that ran out of batteries

We had a toxic love that left me more shattered than already shattered me
