Have you noticed people these days describe God using parameters they desire He possess?

For instance

They describe Him as having

Borders they may cross

Abilities they can overcome and

Likes and dislikes that mirror their own

So as not to have a God they'd ever have to answer to

They say He's

Always loving, never allowing pain

Never allowing torrents of rain

To reign for any amount of time

Timing in sync with their every whim

Like a genie just waiting to escort wishes from their imaginations into reality

They want a god of their own design

Ignoring the grand design He's put in place

Ignoring His Majesty's majesty

They incorrectly and fervently

Use the mind given to them by God

To construct a construct

That God should then fit, in, to

We want God to be powerful enough

To control daily details

To line up life's dominos perfectly

And if they fall He should instantly

Run to the aid of our selfish, fragile hearts

Put the pieces all back in place

Yet, we demand He not be

So immensely powerful that we should revere Him

This generation's description of Yhwh

Relegates Him to a lion in a box

Equipped with a doggy door

Through which He scampers

When a human in need

He stood boldly against the self-righteous

He stared down Satan in the wilderness

And didn't blink

Only He sees the pedophile become a preacher

The thief transformed into a police officer

He guides the deadbeat into true Biblical parenthood

He rained manna from Heaven

Foreshadowing His own arrival

He split seas

Drowning His enemies

So we humans may see

Who He is

He uses His enemies' tactics as tactics to His own Glory

A house built to destroy His Word

Is now used to spread God's story

Many who've tried to disprove Him

Now can't imagine losing Him

It's time we get in the game
