Dying to Live

I walk down this district of make believe

Where buildings of dreams are conceived and built to make believe

But to live in this city I perceive, there's always the average Steve

Drunk with caffeine and a cup of disbelief

I grew up following the systems

Hard to enrich, hard not to listen

Then they fog up our vision like we need some permission to follow our intuition

Then we smile and like the back of my teeth I hide my wisdom

I hate to see adults stiffen the inner child of children

The same ones that lost their inner child and all their interest

The fear of being judged for being real creates the prison

In the cell with keys in their hands but looking for a reason
