Ghost Keeper

She burned herself down to the bone long before we met

Her skin's been graying since an era long past

Her hair that's wrought with chemicals is hanging blonde and wet

She offers me a drink and I set out the glass

I buried her out back beneath the olive tree

Six feet under where her spirit never sleeps

In the night I hear her footsteps fall behind me

And I wonder what it takes to make her leave

You can change your past as much as you want
