I was cleaning plates

As the city scape crumbled down

Hearing trenchant voices down the hall

I'm always at their beck and call

Sweeping up their sweep stake tickets as they hit ground

I failed to recollect your name

I was caught up in my fluorescent oblivion

Cause you were shy and I was sad

Sick of empty, aimless words
