Smoking cobwebs and eating only the words that I'd spoken when you left

If I get high enough I'll never miss you again

If I wait long enough maybe I will be happy in the end

Let me see, let me feel the river coursing through my veins

(Making amends was never an option once we crossed the threshold)

Let these scars I brandished wash away with the tides of yesterday
