Outpost

Before I had nothing but time sitting around waiting in line

Paying just to give it away sweat and tears for weeks and days

Plants growing out of every crack and they wave at me as I head back

To the last little home where you can see the lights are on

Outpost at the end of the world just sitting here with my dog

I don't know where they have gone

It's just me and my thoughts in this little home

Walking these desolate grounds there's nothing that I haven't found

Footprints leave mud on the floor I've been kicking stones that've been kicked before

Empty room wasn't always this way maybe not even today

Drop of fuel in some dried out tank the lonely streets on a quiet Sunday
