Pictures of Mom

Saw a picture of my mother when she was a little girl

Sitting on a picnic table holding hands with her brother

Then a year went by and it came time to take pictures again

Mom sat on the same wood table but nobody's holding hands

Now I ask myself the same thing every morning when I wake

Can i keep my feelings off the shelf and in my own two hands

Had a thought the other day while swimming in a crowded pool
