Born with a gift grabbed a Fender I was thirteen

Awake at night in my bed staring at the ceiling

Started writing hits with friends long before the streaming

Hit every place that we could play we were teenage dreaming

Hit the bottle cracked the cans the liquor had me leaning

Had the groupies take their time with it like they were teething

Different city every night stage lights gleaming

Off the road alone better believe my phone was ringing

Had to trade guitars and bars for boots I had to feed me

Waking up depressed another night of lucid dreaming

Without writing songs my life just simply has no meaning

My soul is leaving
