Resting Below

Something in the water get him drinking heavy

Weighed down like an anchor, but he drag it through the reed rumors

A vine cutter, now; black machete

Got him chopping on the corners, now, but he ain't ready

Most would give him bleak odds on the over under

But he had the will, had the hunger

Plus a dash of know-how

Little bit of wonder

Every night it seemed like he was scheming in his dreams, in his slumber

No time for the pussyfoots or peg-legging once he had his mind dead set

And he was jetting with his head high

Took his last breath from a red sky 'fore he dived down through the waves in the thunder
