When I was younger, filled with the drive and hunger

To go for the kill with the will of a skilled hunter

I didn't take my shot, now I live with the consequences

Of others taking my spot, and all I can do is count the fences

That are penning me in, again and again

No matter how I try it's preventing a win

So to everyone I started with who've moved up and moved on

I'm holding down the mothership of new lives and new songs

All in my solitude, looking back at all the moments

When we were a team with dreams to take on all opponents

You can call it crude, the way I'm playing solitaire

And clinging to the past when I know there ain't no solace there
