Social Distance

It feels like mother nature's basking in the quiet

These streets that I grew up on are usually quite vibrant

The human race is hibernating, though some are still defiant

To give up the many things upon which we are reliant

And I can't help but feel like everything has changed

Do you think we'll still social distance when we're grey and aged?

I want to move to the next chapter, but I cant even turn the page

Hold onto hope that this will be a distant memory one day

The parks are usually full but some days now they're silent

My favourite shops are boarded up like they've survived some violent riot
