Sunset Blues

It was near the snow-peaked mountains, only yesterday

When you told me that our lives would change

You were talking slowly and your hands were warm, they enfold me with a love so fine

There was good grass dying in the fields and in the street that night

And everywhere around us there was so much life

You got to pay the dues to sing a sunset blues

Early riser, easy going, where are you going, try and make me understand

And now your head is in the clouds, and your mother's oh so proud

But I'm not sure if I'm ready for this yet
