Sunday afternoon helping mom in the kitchen

I had went to hoop but I forgot to do the dishes

Told me you won't understand son until you get a pension

Told her mama I'm an artist and that's not the way I'm living

My Uncle Greg came through we took a trip to Charlottesville

I was in the backseat my pops behind the wheel

Said it's time to be a man, Boy raising his voice

But in the back of my mind I knew I always had a choice

To let my inner child shine while grow and mature

I learned on the way to VA that I gotta endure

A lot of things that challenge me but I wasn't too sure

Sixteen at the time so my thoughts weren't pure
