Retrogress

Sit at my desk, fighting with time, nobody knows my pulsing mind

Four cups of coffee before noon

I’m losing the idea of me entertaining stability

My lungs caressing cryptic air

I try too hard to break the mold, want to do the impossible

I pop my fingers when I'm anxious

Eyes gleaming bright with sleepless nights, hellos, how-are-yous feel so blight

Hard to feel wanted in these conditions

Right now I’m sitting here, just soaking up the years

I’ve spent my life trapped in a bottle, now I’m stuck again
