Snow

The winds are tracing scars upon my hands

The blinds are shut, the glass is gone and so’s the contraband

I cannot say what led me to this place

A truth I can’t quite bear to face

You mustn’t let it on, you’re shutting down

A hopeless daze, her tired gaze, and nothing makes a sound

The dust is filling cracks upon the floor

A stick to poke the bear, to tame the fire that’s not burning anymore

Though the snow falls gently, I know we won’t

We have more than we let them know
