Former Bomet governor Issac Ruto has responded to calls to fold his Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party to join DP Ruto’s newly formed United Democratic Alliance (UDA). Speaking in Bomet County, Ruto dismissed the plans but reaffirmed his full support for Deputy President William Ruto 2022 Presidential bid. He declared that he is on a mission to regain his lost glory after losing the 2017 Gubernatorial seat following a defeat by the late Joyce Laboso. “I’ll stand with Chama Cha Mashinani, and we are saying hustler Mashinani. We are not opposing William Ruto 2022 Presidential ambitions, and those telling us to fold CCM are liars,” Issac Ruto said. The Deputy President who had earlier maintained that all allies must join his UDA party, appears to be changing tack to penetrate hostile regions. While in his tour to Migori County, Ruto said that he would work with all small parties from the region ahead of the election. “All those who have been isolated are welcome on board. We cannot form the government if we keep isolating those small parties. I am ready to work with them,” Ruto said in Migori County.
