Heaven's Golden Road

In the quiet morning light, I find my knees in prayer, Whispering to the heavens, feeling God everywhere. The sun paints the fields, as far as I can see, A reminder of the love that's always covering me.

I'm walking on Heaven's golden road, Carrying my burdens, lifting my load. With every step, I'm nearer to my home, Where angels sing and I'll never roam.

The creek sings a melody, sweet and low, Like the hymns my mama taught me, soothing my soul. Under the weeping willow, I lay my heart bare, Finding solace in the gospel, and the cross I bear.

There's a choir of cicadas, under the starlit sky, Joining in my praises to the Most High. In the stillness of the evening, I feel His embrace, With grace as vast as the countryside, filled with His grace.

One day I'll cross the river, to the shores so sweet, Where my fears will fall away, at my Savior's feet. Until then, I'll walk this earthly path I know, Guided by His light, on Heaven's golden road.
