Was it easy to leave it all behind

Still be singing white noise and acknowledging alliterative lines

Still from Sam to Nowhere to the bottom of infinity decline

Bled between the black holes and the footholds on the ridges of your spine

Your body twisting symbols in the fog

Ink blots on the surface of my mind de-shaping into smog

Dispersing in the noise

But I am tired of gimmicks and of riffs

Tired of the metaphors, the pitfalls and the cliffs

Tired of the shackles of the things that I couldn't do

Putting on a brave face hoping to mirror onto you
