Cowboy Commandments

Years of ridin' fence, never got what the good book meant

Until a voice crept in my mind, time to get back in line

Cowboy, change your ways of life, heaven's waiting on the other side

But if you keep on this trail you're headed for an eternal hell

Keep these thoughts in mind, ten commandments to live by

No matter what evil you find, stay true and keep heaven on your mind

One, there is just one God; using many names but they're just the same

Two, admire success but no need to worship false heroes

Three, your ma and pa need to know your alive, respect and call them

Cause once they are gone it's too late, for regrets and goodbyes

Four and five, Keep your tales close to something true, gossip's no good, no good for you
