Days Gone

I see the sun sink low a red-drenched sky

Shadows stretch chasing the days gone by

Footsteps fade in the dust we've made

Memories linger but the colors start to fade

Time's a thief stealing what we know

Leaves us chasing echoes where the winds don't go

Days gone slipping through my hands

Like sand through cracks like waves on the land

Gone too fast a blur in my eyes

But the weight of the past still lies
