The Combination Lock

If you solve the combination lock upon the doors that keep my heart inside of me

We could walk together down these dirty sidewalks as if we were in some field of green

Though for now I keep my hand above my chest to hide the light so it can't find its way

To the eye that you are using to observe me and the dances we do every day

And it's not a simple feat just to interpret all the reasons that I long for you

Maybe it's some kind of rarely spoken notion we could help each other make it through

And I hope when you come round it's all because you feel the need to seek my company

Though it scares me half to death to make a move as the intention isn't plain to see
